Statement |
We
loved you so much that we were
delighted to share with
you not only the gospel of God but
our lives as well, because
you had become so dear to us.
~1 Thessalonians 2.8
Mission:
To glorify God by sharing the Hope that is Jesus Christ, a firm and secure
anchor for the soul, with those who do not otherwise have much hope in
this world. |
| Statement
of Faith |
- The
Bible is God's infallible written word
- There
is only one true God who eternally exists in three persons: Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit
- God
sent His only son Jesus to live on this earth
- Jesus
lived a perfect life without sin
- Jesus
died on the cross for our sins and after three days rose from the dead
- God
sent Jesus to do these things for the forgiveness of our sins
- Every
person is a sinner and is in need of God's grace
- This
is the only way for a person to spend eternal life with God in Heaven
. . . "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord,"
and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will
be saved." Romans 10:9
- Salvation
comes only through faith - we are not able to attain salvation on our
own

the Scenes |
Both
nursing students at Baylor Nursing School in Dallas and recent grads from
Texas A&M University, we (Heather and Sarah) had both been drawn to
Africa for many years with an intense interest in joining God in what He
was doing on the other side of the world. Close friends and roommates, we
both wondered as graduation approached, how exactly the Lord wanted nursing
to be defined in our individual lives. With hearts for missions and reaching
out to those hurting so far away, we individually prayed about where the
Lord wanted us to be after graduation, and the Lord individually showed
us. After both deciding we must head to Africa, God blessed us with the
incredibly orchestrated opportunity to go together.
A short-term
mission trip to Rwanda the previous year left this country and these people
on Sarah’s heart. Through friendships with people there, God began
to open the doors and we began to prepare for a three-month journey with
the Lord and each other to Rwanda. Our time
there was spent exactly how God wanted it to be spent, not exactly how
either of us had planned. We taught groups of women, youth, and HIV infected
individuals about important health issues and shared with them the HOPE
found only in Christ. We also had the opportunity to build relationships
with numerous children on the street as we shared times of games, Bible
stories, hugs, and God’s love with them. Finally, we worked in a
sparsely equipped clinic with two precious Rwandese nurses, as we gained
exposure to the many devastating health needs of the country. As we learned
about the culture, the seemingly endless and overwhelming need of the
people in every aspect of life, and developed priceless relationships
with so many, we found ourselves torn when it was time to return to America.
Upon our
return, after spending much time together in prayer for the friends we
had left behind, and individually about what God wanted us to do from
here, He planted the passionate desire in both of our hearts to continue
to minister to the people of Rwanda in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe this ministry organization is an incredible opportunity to
do that, and we eagerly anticipate the opportunities that lie ahead to
share the love and Hope of our Lord Jesus Christ with a people who do
not otherwise have much hope in this world. |
